Google says access is blocked

ICARUS is currently a private beta. Google only lets approved test accounts use it. Make sure you chose the exact Gmail address that was added as a test user. If your address has not been approved, email the support contact above.

This is different from a Google caution screen. Read Google's screen and follow its choices only if you recognize ICARUS and intended to start setup.

Setup says it expired

For safety, each Google sign-in works for 10 minutes and only in the browser that started it. Return to the main ICARUS page, make your choices again, and continue with Google.

I approved it but nothing happened

Open Gmail and look under More in the left sidebar. ICARUS labels may be collapsed there. Sorting rules appear under Gmail Settings, Filters and Blocked Addresses.

If the completion page says a few rules failed, run setup again. ICARUS is idempotent, so it only adds missing matching labels or rules.

Can ICARUS read my email?

No. It does not request permission to read message content. The two Google permissions cover labels and basic filter settings only.

Does it stay connected?

No. ICARUS asks Google to revoke its short-lived access as soon as setup ends. It never requests a refresh token and never stores the temporary access token.

How do I undo it?

Delete ICARUS rules under Gmail Settings, Filters and Blocked Addresses. Then delete the ICARUS labels in Gmail's label settings. Removing them does not delete or move any message.

I prefer not to connect Google

Use the manual computer setup. It downloads a Gmail filter file and applies all eight groups. Gmail's filter import is available on a computer, not on a phone.
